We are so grateful to receive a £5000 grant from the Worcester Community Foundation. The grant allowed us to employ an extra member of staff for 1 day a week over 12 weeks to help us support homeless individuals who were placed in local hotels as part of the Government’s “Everyone In” campaign, in response to COVID-19.

It has also helped to support extra items such as PPE at 1 hotel and also our “No Second Night Out” facility which is housing 12 people who are new to the streets during the pandemic. The other vital cost it has covered is to provide emergency transport for those rough sleeping.

“When I was first referred to CCP it felt like they were the only ones who were trying to help me. I felt on my own. I am now looking forward and hoping to move into social housing soon. I would like to say thank you for the support I have received and how much I appreciate it”.

Worcester News interviewed someone in June 2020 who had been supported into a hotel in Worcester during lockdown. He was 48 years old and had been homeless for 25 years.

“...Hotel staff and charity workers from homeless charity CCP and St Paul's Hostel saved my life...I have never slept in a double bed before. I'm happy here - this is a five star hotel putting up homeless people. I'm an alcoholic and have been in and out of prison all my life.”

Thank you to all those involved in securing this funding and helping us to save lives.
