Our Community-based Support Service operates from local hubs in the Gloucester, Tewkesbury and Forest districts.

Community-based Services will deliver short term support that builds on an persons existing strengths to help them develop the skills to become self-reliant and resilient, and live independently in the long term. Support will be available to:

  • Reduce the incidence of tenancy breakdown or individuals losing their homes
  • Support service users to find and secure appropriate accommodation, set up and maintain it
  • Support service users to maximise their income, improve budgeting and money management skills, and reduce debt
  • Help service users to find activities, build social networks and avoid isolation, including rebuilding family relationships and developing links with other people, neighbourhoods and community networks
  • Help service users to take up education, training, employment or volunteering opportunities
  • Improve health and wellbeing and enable service users to access health and social care services, including GPs, mental health and drug and alcohol services
