All the projects below provide food to cover the immediate crisis that a family or individual is facing. These are generally ordinary people who suddenly find themselves facing poverty and hunger due to loss of salary, change in benefits, unexpected large bills, illness or family breakdown.

Indications are that in Universal Credit areas the demand for food parcels increases by about 17%, with some foodbanks reporting an increase of up to 60%.

The CCP FoodShare scheme is like a foodbank and provides basic emergency food parcels designed to feed an individual or family for 3 days. In an average year, we will distribute around 800 food parcels from our office at 340 High Street and through our network of CCP support workers.

Pantry Project

The CCP Pantry Project has a Corner Shop feel where those living in poverty attend weekly under a membership scheme. For £3 they can take home approximately £30 worth of food including fresh produce and other groceries. As we see these clients on a regular basis, we can build a relationship with them and offer budgeting, nutritional and cooking advice, as well as signposting them to other services available to them.

Hamper Scamper

The CCP Hamper Scamper appeal seeks to spread the spirit of Christmas and give hope by providing seasonal food parcels to those in need. We receive referrals from CCP projects and external agencies and provide a festive hamper in time for Christmas. Click here to find out more
