At CCP, training for staff and volunteers is vital and ongoing. Ruth Davey, Partnerships Co-ordinator from Severn Wye Energy Agency kindly provided 9 members of the Social Prescribing, Advice & Inclusion and Reaching Communities teams with accredited training – Introduction to Energy Use in the Home and Fuel Poverty Awareness.

The purpose of the training was to:
• understand the main uses of energy in the home
• understand what is meant by fuel poverty, how it is measured, and it’s causes
• understand the effects of fuel poverty, how these can be minimised, and identify those at risk
• be able to signpost and refer householders to appropriate support
• learn how to assist clients/patients save energy and money while keeping warmer and healthier at home

Great news for CCP staff, volunteers, clients and patients!
