Accredited training on energy use and fuel poverty At CCP, training for staff and volunteers is vital and ongoing. Ruth Davey, Partnerships Co-ordinator from Severn Wye Energy Agency kindly provided 9 members of the Social Prescribing, Advice & Inclusion and Reaching Communities teams with accredited training – Introduction to Energy Use in the Home and Fuel Poverty Awareness. The purpose of the training was to:• understand the main uses of energy in the home• understand what is meant by fuel poverty, how it is measured, and it’s causes• understand the effects of fuel poverty, how these can be minimised, and identify those at risk• be able to signpost and refer householders to appropriate support• learn how to assist clients/patients save energy and money while keeping warmer and healthier at home Great news for CCP staff, volunteers, clients and patients!
