Sessional SWEP Workers to cover Worcester, Redditch, Malvern, Evesham and Kidderminster

Each winter CCP is involved with co-ordinating and running Emergency Night Shelters across Worcestershire to enable rough sleepers to get in out of freezing temperatures throughout the winter months. This winter we will be opening SWEP shelters in: Worcester, Redditch, Malvern, Evesham and Kidderminster.

Winter is a particularly harsh time for those living on our streets and there is no doubt that the dedication of Staff and Volunteers (CCP and other), save many people from freezing to death in that season.

The Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) is in place from October to March and we are in the process of building this year’s SWEP Night Worker Team. Our aim is to have a large pool of sessional/overtime staff to ensure that shifts are spread evenly and that we are able to cover any night at short notice with minimum disruption.

Waking Night Shifts tend to be 10 to 12 hours at £10 per hour (+ holiday leave entitlement).

Volunteer opportunities are also available to work alongside night staff as additional support.

Experience is not necessary, but some empathy for vulnerable adults and common sense in terms of people management is essential.
