The Cheltenham Challenge is a multi-terrain fundraising event operated by CCP. It offers 5K, 10K and Half Marathon distances. All races are open to runners and walkers. The 5K and 10K are open to all ages, the Half Marathon is for adults 17+ only.

These Conditions of Entry serve as a contract between ‘the Organiser’: Caring for Communities and People (CCP), charity number 1043143, trading premises 15 Royal Crescent Cheltenham GL50 3DA and “you” the Participant (as named on the registration form).


Cheltenham Challenge 2018 – ‘the Event'.

  1. Entering the Event
  2. a) The Event involves sustained physical exertion. Prior to registering you must be satisfied that you are fit to take part in the Cheltenham Challenge and that there are no medical conditions which would or should reasonably preclude your participation. If in doubt you must consult your Doctor before registering, and notify the Organiser directly should your medical condition change prior to the Event.

(b) You must be 16 years old or over on the date of the Event to participate. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Organiser.

(c) You must register via the online booking form to the race of your choice you will receive an email confirming your registration.

(d) By registering on to the event you accept the terms of the Fundraising Target and agree to donate or fundraise through sponsorship, a minimum of £100+ gift aid for Caring for Communities and People (CCP), of which a minimum of 50% should ideally be received by the Charity by 20th May

2018 (4 weeks prior to the Event) and all sponsorship monies and fundraising must have been submitted no later than 10th June 2018 (1 week before the Event).

(e) If you fail to submit the 50% minimum fundraising 4 weeks prior to the Challenge (20th May 2018) then you may be precluded from the Event.

(f) If you choose not to take up your place on the Cheltenham Challenge for any reason then that place can be transferred to another person up to 20th May 2018, provided that the organiser is contacted first and that all the fundraising commitments to the charity are agreed to by the new participant.

(g) You agree to supply the organiser with any information as may be requested from time to time in respect of the event in a prompt and timely manner.

(h) You agree to abide by the Cheltenham Challenge Event Rules as issued and where updated and notified to you.

(i) You have read and understood the Data Protection question on the registration form.

(j) You participate within the Event entirely at your own risk.

(k) Cheltenham Challenge reserve the right to use any photographs taken on the event for online and print marketing, advertising and materials.


  1. Event information

After registering to the Event you will be sent a fundraising Information Pack by CCP, and all other information relating to the event will be sent to you including race number before the event, it is your responsibility to read and act on the information supplied.


  1. Fundraising

(a) You are making a commitment to fundraise or donate to CCP a minimum sponsorship target of £100+ gift aid, which must be received 1 week prior to the Event. Where you are unable to meet this initial target and there is no realistic prospect of your making the overall pledge by 10th June 2018, you are required to notify CCP who reserves the right to preclude you from the Event.

(b) All fundraising monies should be collected using CCP’s online fundraising tools as shown on the 100Runners event page at

(c) Should you not be able to take up your place at the Event or chose not to for whatever reason, any Fundraising monies collected must be returned to the donors or retained by the Charity as agreed between you and the Charity after all donors have been informed. The arrangements for any refunds to sponsorship donors are strictly between the Charity and you in this instance.


  1. Changes made by you

Any change must be notified by you to the Organiser by email, by the person named on the registration form completed at the time of registration. The Organiser will always try to accommodate reasonable change requests; however some changes requested may incur an administration fee which you will be advised of at the time before electing to precede with the change.


  1. The Organisers’ obligations to you

(a) The Organiser will provide medical support for the Event, and the prime role of the medical support teams will always be to deal with genuine medical emergencies as their priority when and where they are required to do so. You must bring your own equipment and clothing advice as issued.

(b) The Organiser will provide water during the Event, and it is your responsibility to remain fed and hydrated, and should follow the nutritional advice as issued.

(c) Whilst the Event route will be signed, it is your responsibility to follow the signs and instructions from the marshals along the route.

(d) The Organiser will ensure the routes are safe and marshalled sufficiently to safeguard all participants.

(e) The Organiser will provide you, as a CCP Fundraiser, with a technical running vest or t-shirt

(f) Provide you with a training and nutrition plan

(g) Provide you with a registration code that will give you free entry to the race of your choice

(h) Will provide a CCP meet and greet area in the event village prior and post-race so pictures can be taken with all fundraising participants.
