'Only the foolish would think that wisdom is something to keep locked in a drawer. Only the fearful would feel empowerment is something best kept to oneself, or the few, and not shared with all.' (Rasheed Olangaru)

All of CCP's volunteers have a story to tell; something that both compels them to make a difference whilst enriching their ability to do so.

We are particulary looking for volunteers whose stories have lead them to experience homelessness, or the threat of homelessness, in the past. Perhaps your ability to sustain a tenancy was impacted by substance / alcohol misuse, or mental health issues, or an unforeseen crisis. If so, we would really like to hear from you.

We would like to offer you training and support to use your experiences to help empower those currently being affected by homelessness and tenancy related issues who are accessing our Worcestershire HoPES Service (Worcestershire Homelessness Prevention Service).

The Worcestershire Homelessness Prevention Service (HoPES) is for single people and childless couples across Worcestershire who are at risk of rough sleeping, including those with mental health issues. The service can provide advice and support for tenancy issues, housing rights & homelessness, budgeting & benefit take-up, housing-related debt, training & employment and social & community inclusion.

You could be the key to supporting a person in crisis to access the support and advice they need to take the first steps towards independence. Being based in Worcestershire is ideal but not essential as travel expenses will be paid. More important is the ability to harness your own experiences to help give perspective to someone else's.
