Older Persons' Month

Opportunities, Achievements, Active Lifestyles

Older Persons' Month takes place in September each year. There are a whole range of events aimed at older people during the month. These take place across Leicestershire & Rutland. They include a number of older person's meetings, leisure, sporting and health promotion activity days. Throughout the month, older people have the chance to talk about their experience with public services and any changes they believe would benefit the community.

The booklet for 2010 is now being made widely available and a link to the electronic copy is below.

If you would like hard copies for yourself, friends or groups, please contact Liz and we will get them to you.

Contacts in the booklet and much of the information are still useful all year round, so it is worth keeping as a resource once the main month's activities are over.

The launch is on Thursday, 26 August 2010 at Age Concern, Clarence House, Humberstone Gate, from 10.30 am. - 3.00 pm. - do come along! Please get in touch with any feedback, questions or comments at any time.

Planning an Event for Older People?

Please find below a toolkit which was produced nationally for those organising events for Older People's Day but which will also be useful for organising events throughout the year.

I hope that you will find it to be of use.
