The Leicestershire County Compact was signed in August 2004. This mutually agreed guide on the relationship between Leicestershire County Council and the Voluntary and Community Sector in Leicestershire underpins the way we work together.
The Compact Implementation Group is currently developing the following five Codes of Good Practice:
- Funding
- Consultation & Policy Appraisal
- Volunteering
- Working with Black & Minority Ethnic Organisations
Community Groups
These Codes will provide the mechanics of how we intend to work together.
A copy of the Leicestershire County Compact and the draft action plan is available from CCP. To obtain a copy, please contact us or download it from our web site
What's in it?
The Compact document provides a guide on the way that the County Council and the Voluntary and Community Sector in Leicestershire work together. It explains that you can have different kinds of relationship with partners, or none at all but there may be times when you need to form a relationship with either the County Council or a Voluntary and Community organisation and you should be able to do this based on sufficient knowledge of that organisation and its practices.
In the document, the partners have identified specific undertakings or commitments and a measure of the success of the Compact is whether over the next year or so, we can emphatically say that yes, we have an improved way of working together and yes, we have achieved some or all of these undertakings. In order to become familiar with these undertakings, please contact us for a copy of the County Compact or download it from the link below. We will be asking you if we have succeeded.
