My role is to work with the VCS element of the Extended Services agenda (Extended Services is the umbrella term for Children’s Centres & Extended Schools) and to effectively engage the VCS in the delivery of services through both children’s centres and extended schools.

Extended Services are about:

• Raising attainment in school
• Supporting families
• Building stronger communities
• Ensuring every child achieves

My role is to ensure that the VCS is engaged in the planning and delivery of services, both at a strategic County level and also at a local level. I work with the Locality Partnership Officers, the Children Centre Co-ordinators, as well as the Extended Schools Co-ordinators, by providing a voice and representing the interests of the VCS at locality level.

My work involves brokering the relationships between voluntary sector providers and the Children & Young People's Service commissioning arranagements at a local level. I am involved with the Multi-Agency Common Assessment Framework panels in each locality, sign-posting the lead professional to the VCS service around individual commissioning of services around children and young people and their families where there is a targeted need.
