CVS Community Partnership: promoting and supporting an effective and influential voluntary & community sector in Leicestershire and Rutland

We provide a strategic and planning resource to the voluntary and community sector in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We focus on the long term policy making and planning carried out by government and statutory bodies and the effect they will have on the services provided by regional and local voluntary and community services.

Primarily we view our role as that of an influencer and an enabler.

We influence the statutory bodies that we have formed working partnerships with by raising awareness of the role of the voluntary sector. We represent the needs and issues of the voluntary organisations at the consultation and planning stages of policies and guidelines.
We enable the voluntary sector by providing them with information about the policies and guidelines that affect them (as produced by national and local government and statutory bodies). We also advise them on how best to interpret the guidelines so that its services can be delivered effectively.

We aim to:

provide a channel of communication
promote partnership working
market the role of the voluntary and community sector
empower and enable voluntary groups to have a voice

CVS Community Partnership (CCP) is an agency of the Councils for Voluntary Service operating in the sub-region of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

CCP was formed in 1998 by collaboration between the Councils for Voluntary Service in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We focus our development activity in the following areas:

Health & Social Care Team: enabling the voluntary & community sector, users and carers to contribute to the planning and development of health and social care services.

Learning & Skills: enabling the voluntary & community sector to be involved in the lifelong learning agenda both as service providers and learners.

Partnerships: improving working relationships by developing partnership between local government, the voluntary & community sector and other partners.
